YOU AIN'T NO DOLPHIN!

The dolphin is said to have a brain bigger than that of a human, and is one of the most ambient of creatures. It seems to be adapted perfectly to its environment.

But have dolphins used their brains to create something comparable to human civilization? No, for they don't need to.

On the other hand, the human animal is one of the most helpless of all animals, in need of prosthesis. CIVILIZATION IS THE GENERAL PROSTHESIS TO MAKE MORE AMBIENT THIS HELPLESS HUMAN.

And you ain't no dolphin! The "only thing standing between you" and the scary-dreary-deprived life of a cave-dweller is CIVILIZATION. And, back of every critical resource of that CIVILIZATION is MATHEMATICS. (I challenge you to show otherwise. So far, every person who has tried, showed his or her ignorance of the origin of some resource.)

Yet what is the present situation? The Mathematical Association of America noted a few years back that "the half-life of a college mathematics class is one year"! What does that mean? That half have dropped out at the end of a year. That, of 100 starting as Freshmen, only 12 remain after 4 years to get a B.S., really not enough to teach even Primary School. 3 remain after 2 years Graduate School to get an M.S., which is what a Primary math teacher should have -- tho few have. And barely enough for Middle School, which would be better with 1 more Graduate year, with only 1 of the original 100 getting that far. But none of the 100 is left to finish that 4th Graduate Uear for Ph. D., which is what a High School teacher should have -- but almost none has. Dig? 0 of 100 left after 8 years. This is worse than any epidemic or pandemic yet recorded, including AIDS. But who's noticing? What's the training of most of those teaching math in our public & private schools? Who cares? Just go on FREELOADING on the Endowments of others and let the corporations retrain the kids if they get a job. (Guess who's really paying again for this education?)

Dolphins don't FREELOAD. In the "wild", they work for their "dinner". In captivity, they do silly tricks to amuse you in order to get a little fish.

Maybe that noise they give humans is Dolphin for a "raspberry"!
