I taught many courses for teachers, such as "Mathematics in the Elementary School" or "... in the Secondary School"; "Science in the Elementary School" or "... the Secondary School".I early formulated a Principle I learned from my gardener father: "Plant now, dig later." I hate "Jited": "just-in-time-education", popular as it is to teachers and administrators. I believe in introducing an important and difficult concept or procedure early -- pointing out similar notions in daily life -- and give it (say "Number") time to "take roots in the thoughts and experience of students before developing it". For that's the way it occurred historically. It didn't spring up, full grown like the warriors that sprang up from the dragon seeds that Perseus planted.
But this notion always met with very vocal resistance. "Why should I take time to do something that another teacher credit for, later on?"
Remembering that my fondest memories were of ensemble acting om plays and movies (later, on TV), I tried to appeal to "the professionalism" that has been traditional among the best actors of generation after generation. But, usually, few if any understood what I was talking about.
This is something actors can teach teachers. And it is sorely needed in Education today!
FULFILL BY FILLING SOCIETY'S NEEDS! Happy Teaching!
