KEY WINS NOBEL PRIZE IN PHYSICS

Wilhelm Roentgen (1845-1923) is given a pitchblende rock and puts it in a desk drawer on top of an unused photographic plate.

Later, planning to use the plate, he discovers that it has "a photograph of a key".

The key was under the photograph plate, and -- like visible light -- mysterious "rays" from th pitchblende rock had taken the photograph of the key!

For the discovery of X-Rays, Wilhelm Roentgen was awarded THE FIRST NOBEL PRIZE IN PHYSICS.
