All of the files herein are written from concern that Presidents and Congresses feel it's ok to order young people, mostly men, into warlike action, resulting in death and wounding, without ever making the Constitution Commitment of Declaring War! And I believe that this allows these powers to neglect responsibilities to veterans and to Service Personnel.

Yet they expect "moral" behavior of us!

This reminds me of an important book of the 30's, Moral Man and Immoral Society, by Reinhold Neibuhr, eminent theologian.

Reinhold Neibuhr and his brother, Richard Neibuhr (also a theologian), both graduated from Elmhurst College, where our son, Tim, is now Head of the Music Deparment. (The Town of Elmhurst is one year older than Chicago!) And both Reinhold and Richard served -- at different times -- as President of Elmhurst College. Recently a statue was dedicated there to Reinhold. But, alas! his book is out-of-print and little known.

I imagine that many politicians do not wish these matters to be discussed in the Public Forum. Do many of our Citizens? And why do the Media and the historians never discuss it?
