Tribalism means accepting only those of one's tribe. Civlization is supposed to change that, particularly under democratic conditions.

To excuse misconduct or abusive behavior towards another person because of the "kind of person" she/he is means ignoring responsibilities of civilization. Taking, but not giving.

Failing to note this caveat against such behavior means, itself, SCD.
