• The expression "gambler's ruin" refers to mzthematical-statistical demonstrations that certain alleged "strategies" of gamblers will lead to "ruin" or depletion of all of his/her stake or fortune.

• I speak from personal experience, having spent 9 disillusioning months stationed as a soldier in Reno, NV, during WW II.

• Every one should understand that Gumptious Gamblers Don't Gamble

• Gambling does not contribute one cent to the economy, but distributes already accrued wealth "randomly".

• The current illusion is that you can avoid increased taxes for schools or other public support by floating lotteries. Wrong! A lottery ticket is taxed! So you are paying a HIDDEN TAX to AVOID AN OPEN TAX!
• I've strived for more than 35 years to promote "Gambling Education" in our schools. Please help in this cause!
• I call upon each of you who KNOWS and CARES and DARES to help me create "gambling games" which show children and young people that effective "gambling systems" do not exist. (If they did, we could use them to break the laws of physics!) The resources for these computer games have been developed for years. It is simply a matter of diverting them to a better purpose.

• The best book I can recommend on this subject, or probability in general, is Probabilities in Everyday Life, John D. McGervey, Ivy Books (cheap!), 1986
