SYNONYMS
A "synoonym" is "a parto of the first part" in a BINARY RELATION with another word. as im "man"
relating to "male". Synonyms have the same meaning (semtiotic status), but usually
different spellings (syntactic status. This i in contrast to homonyms (PL), which
are spelled and pronounced the same (partial syntactic samenesssemantic status, as in the noun "lie" (synonymous with "untruth") and the verb
"lie" (synonymous with "prevaricate"); please note that the grammatical difference her (noun and
verb) indicates a syntactic deviation, even though spelled and pronounced the same.
