HERSCHEL DISCOVER THE PLANET URANUS

George Herschel was Organist to the Crown, and an amateur astronomer.

After building the world's largest telescope, Herschel became The Royal Astronomer, and amateur organist.

While making a systematic survey of regions of the sky, Herschel discovered, in 1781, a new planet, which he named "Uranus".

Herschel said, "It was it's time to be discovered."
